From her ASAA 2025 speaker bioA Tampa-born organizer, educator and storyteller, Charlea founded Black N Tampa in 2020 to turn community care into lasting opportunity.
Appointed Political Action Chair of the NAACP Florida State Youth Council at 13, she also served as NAACP Hillsborough Youth Council Vice President. She spoke at March for Our Lives before more than 15,000 people at 15 and was archived by Duke University at 19. As sophomore class president, she helped write policy with the Hillsborough County School Board.
The featured lead coordinator for Michelle Obama’s Becoming Me initiative, Charlea graduated from FAMU with honors and top of her African-American Studies cohort. A Gilman Scholar in Kenya and former Angela Rye intern, she is now becoming a paralegal and is part of the national She Should Run cohort — with Tampa at the center.
