Fund the kids
this city forgot to fund.

Black N Tampa runs five free programs — tutoring, literacy, youth entrepreneurship, a neighborhood garden, and free mental-health care — with no cost to a single family. Give any amount you want; donations are what keep them free.

What your gift does

Every dollar has a name attached to it.

$25

One Power Hour seat

Materials and a two-hour virtual tutoring block for one Tampa student.

$100

A Books to Barbers shelf

Stocks a barbershop with a rotating library so kids read out loud while they wait for the chair.

$500

A season in the garden

Seeds, soil, and grow bags for a full growing season at the HOPE Center community garden — food that stays in the neighborhood.

Any amount

You name the number

$7 or $7,000 — give whatever fits your budget, once or monthly. Every dollar goes straight into free programming.

Ways to give

More than one way to keep it free.

Most impact

Give monthly

A recurring gift is what lets us promise a family that next week's tutoring session still happens. $10, $25, or $100 a month — cancel anytime.

One-time

Give any amount

$7 or $7,000. Every one-time gift goes straight into free programming, and a tax letter is available on request.

Business & community

Sponsor a program

Underwrite a Youth Business Fair booth, a season in the garden, a Books to Barbers site, or a block of tutoring — with your name on it.

Matching gifts

Many employers match employee donations dollar for dollar. Send us your company's matching form and we'll complete and return it — your gift counts twice.

In-kind

Give goods, not dollars

Books, school supplies, garden tools, seeds, and equipment all keep programs running. We'll send a letter describing your in-kind donation.

Legacy & major gifts

Fund a whole program

Foundations, family funds, and major donors can cover a full program year. We'll walk you through the budget line by line.

Request the budget

Give to a specific program

Tell us which program your gift is for and we'll designate it: Power Hour tutoring, Books to Barbers literacy, the Youth Business Fair, the Belmont Heights community garden, or Rooted & Well mental-health care.

Where the money goes.

  • 100% of gifts stay inside Tampa Bay programming.
  • Young people are paid for their creative work, not volunteered out.
  • Every program is run with a local partner — schools, barbers, the HOPE Center.
  • We publish what we spend, program by program.

For your taxes

Need a donation letter?

Black N Tampa is a Tampa-based nonprofit. If you need written acknowledgment of your gift for tax purposes — for yourself, your employer's matching program, or your company's records — we'll send a dated letter with the amount, the date received, and a statement that no goods or services were provided in exchange.

  • Requesting one: check "I need a tax letter" when you give, or email us anytime — we don't need you to donate again to reissue it.
  • Turnaround: letters go out by email within 5 business days. Year-end summary letters for recurring donors are sent every January.
  • In-kind gifts: books, garden supplies, and equipment get a letter describing the donation — you assign the value, per IRS rules.
  • Employer matching: send us your company's form and we'll complete and return it.
